TEHRAN – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during a telephone conversation with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, has said that the solidarity between Tehran and Beirut has thwarted the enemies’ plots.

Pointing to the ongoing political developments in the region, the president said, “The hegemonic powers are opposed to the regional nations and only look after their own interests.”
“Recent developments in the region and the approaches adopted by the United States and its allies toward these developments prove the rightness of the assertion that they are only looking after their interests,” he said.
He went on to say, “The bulling and arrogant powers not only are opposed to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, but are also opposed to all independent nations which are campaigning for the justice around the world.”
Arrogant powers are hatching plots to undermine independent countries, he stated.
Despite the enemies’ plots, the independent nations’ future looks very bright, he added.
The Lebanese parliament speaker highlighted the importance of boosting unity and cooperation between the two nations, saying, “We are seriously trying to strengthen solidarity and unity with the Iranian nation, because we believe that the two nations are in the same front (against the arrogant powers).”
